This workshop provides training on requirements for the handling of personal information for Federal Government departments and agencies under the Commonwealth Privacy Act.
The course covers obligations under the:
• Australian Privacy Principles (APPs);
• Australian Government Agencies Privacy Code (APP Code); and
• Data Breach Notification Scheme (DBN Scheme).
The learning objectives of the workshop are to equip participants with a detailed knowledge of:
• legal requirements under the APPs, APP Code and DBN Scheme;
• privacy governance mechanisms required to meet obligations;
• how to apply requirements in practical scenarios;
• how to identify and manage privacy risks and incidents; and
• how to perform the role of Privacy Officer or privacy manager.
Course content, including cases studies, is specific to Federal Government agencies.
Attendees receive a bound Participant Handbook containing course materials which also provides a privacy reference handbook for future use.
